What is The Encountering?

I am so excited that you are here reading about The Encountering! 

I believe there is beauty and power through encountering Jesus and Scripture. 

It is because of this belief that I want to do my best to help others perceive it fully, not just see it.

It's very possible to see something and yet not understand.

It's also possible to see something, think you understand, and yet still not understand, without realizing you don't understand. (Read that again. Slowly.) 

It's why I've written "Encountering Grace" 

Matthew 13:14 - "Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: “‘You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.”

I came to realize that one's perception of Jesus can be molded by many different things. Usually, those things limit our perception of him. 

As more time passed, I realized that the issue was not so much about seeing Jesus correctly, but perceiving correctly.  That's why I want to help make the introduction.

I think once the introduction is made the beauty and power of Jesus and Scripture can do the rest. However, with all the obstructions that exist that make seeing this reality difficult, I hope to point out both the obstructions and the reality so that both Jesus and Scripture can be perceived for Who and what they are.
